An entire body transformation, a body lift consists of an abdominoplasty, thigh lift and buttock lift. A body lift results in an enhanced, lifted and more toned appearance. Practicing in Perth, Dr. Chris Allen and his team help men and women feel more confident and comfortable in their skin. Ideal patients include:
- Men or women with excess tissue on the abdomen, hips, thighs and buttocks
- Women who want to tighten their skin and enhance their shape after childbirth
- Men or women who have had significant weight loss due to diet or weight loss surgery
Consisting of an abdominoplasty, thigh lift and buttock lift, a body lift takes between five to six hours and involves going under general anaesthesia. Incisions are made from the pubic hairline, extending across the hips, around the waist and to the midline of the back. Excess skin and fat is removed with remaining abdomen skin stretched down to the excision line. The hips and buttocks are lifted.
Skin incisions are sutured with buried, dissolving sutures. Soft, small drains are inserted to eliminate excess fluid. A firm, elastic support garment is applied, wearable for around three weeks, to aid in recovery and shape.
A hospital stay of three to four days is generally required, with showering possible on the third day. Moderate discomfort should be expected for the first two days, however significantly decreases on the third day. Swelling and bruising is mild to moderate.
You’re able to resume light activities after two weeks with full aerobic activities possible by around six weeks. We recommend taking two to four weeks off work, depending on the demands of your job.
After your body lift, you’ll find a flatter abdomen, a tighter waist and firmer buttocks. Your clothes will fit better and you may even drop in sizing. Results of your body lift will appear natural and improve over time, giving you a lasting result.
